Travel:
Trieste has its local airport, which connects to main Italian hubs, like Milan, Rome and Venice.
The below pdf provides a comprehensive picture on how one gets to ICTP.
For those who need to minimise travel time, optimum option is to land in Milan and connect to local airport, thereafter, a taxi ride to ICTP @ €50, or one can take the airport bus, no. 51 @ €10. Alternatively, one can land in Venice and take the train to Trieste Central Station, a journey of 1hr 40 minutes, thereafter, take bus 36 to ICTP or taxi (@ €10). If you wish to explore the town centre from ICTP, then bus no. 36 is the one you would need to take @ €1.5 each way.
